1. We are looking for a vacation destination where there is entertainment (we have 3 youngsters aged 17 to 21) but which is also a nice city - I mean where there are nice houses, streets... Is it the case of Ocean City? 2. We love swimming, and the beach. How is the water temperature? Is it always sunny in July/August (I mean can we go there for 1 week and be certain it will be sunny most of time)? 3. Does the boardwalk also have a quieter part, where you can just have a walk by the sea? Thank you Danielle (we live in Montreal, Canada)
Me and my friend want to drive down to Ocean City and maybe just stay for a couple of nights. Considering neither of us have jobs, we can't really afford a hotel. Where can we stay?

I would definitely opt for the campground. You don't want to get caught sleeping on the beach or in your car. |
can you tell me if the alantic oceanfront inn is a good place to stay
|
Yes, I've stayed there many times. It's such a perfect mid-town location, it's oceanfront, and even has a small pool. It's one of the best bargains in OC in my opinion. Last year they upgraded the king rooms with new furnishings and flat screen TVs. I'm hoping that they will renovate the other rooms this year. |
Hi, I will be there for a bachelor party and wondered if there are any strip clubs in town or if anybody can recommend some nearby. Thanks, Dan
|
No strip clubs in OC. I'd recommend going to the Party Block, Seacrets, or Fagers for a bachelor party. |
We will be sharing a condo there next week. There is parking space for only one vehicle. Any weekly parking lots available?
|
Street parking isn't too hard to find especially in the morning and around dinner time. If you can't find a street spot, you could leave the other car at the Convention Center on 41st st. |
Do I have to wait to book until the week before arriving to get the best deal when looking to rent a condo?
|
If you wait until the week before, a lot of the places you're looking at will already be booked. In my experience, it's easiest to negotiate a deal directly with the condo owners on www.vrbo.com. If you see that their booking calendar is pretty empty you may be able to convince them to let you pay a lower rate. |

La Hacienda is my favorite. Tequila Mockingbird is another option as well as Mother's Cantina, which has more of a laid back/bar atmosphere. |
where the best place for steamed crabs to eat at
|
I enjoy Hooper's in West Ocean City for crabs and have gone there for years, but I recently have a new favorite. On the Bay Seafood right on 42nd st and coastal oceanside has excellent crabs by the dozen. I love the atmosphere--it's low key with picnic tables in the sand. The food is great! |
What do you do with very young children if it's raining the entire time you are there? I'm thinking it just might be better not to go. I rather sit at home with toys and cribs than sit in a hotel room for three days!
|
Indoor mini golf, indoor laser tag, arcades, Ripley's Believe it or Not, movie theatres, the mall, and the indoor rides at Trimper's. There is still lots to do in OC even when it rains! |
|
Phillips by the Sea and Fager's Fine Dining for more upscale seafood. Hooper's and On the Bay Seafood (42nd St.) for crabs and a more casual atmosphere. |

There are hotels and condos on the North end of the boards. It is much quieter there during the height of the summer crowds. The Grand Hotel on 21st street has a nice play area for young children and both an indoor and outdoor pool.
